Podcast Episode 40: Area Majority — Dominant Species, El Grande, and The Expanse

After a bit of a break, we’re back! Marc, Matt, and Orion talk about area majority games with an emphasis on their recent play of The Expanse. What separates these games from the more broad category of “area control”? What makes them work or not work?

  1. I continue to love this podcast, and this was a great topic. But this episode especially highlights an ongoing issue- Orion’s voice volume is substantially lower than everyone else’s, making it really difficult to hear him without blasting the volume. Hope there’s an easy fix for the future.

    1. Yeah, that’s been a frustration, but it shouldn’t be anymore going forwards. I purchased a mixer device when the Patreon hit $100 and have used it a couple of times, but we just moved apartments and the power cord got lost in the mix, so we had to do some quick improvisation with our setup, resulting in the lower quality and not as much control over the volume levels. Hopefully this is the last time this is an issue!
